Heart Rhythm Associates, located in Greenville, North Carolina, is a specialized medical practice focusing on cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology, serving patients across eastern North Carolina with comprehensive care for heart rhythm disorders. Founded on December 5, 2000, by Dr. David W. Frazier, MD, a board-certified clinical cardiac electrophysiologist with over 30 years of experience, the practice emphasizes personalized patient care and advanced treatments. In July 2019, Dr. Gregory S. Harris, MD, PhD, also a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist, joined the group following his fellowship completion, bringing additional expertise to the team.

David Frazier

David Frazier, M.D.


Electrophysiologist

Dr. David Frazier is a board-certified Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist with over three decades of expertise in arrhythmia management, device implantation, and complex ablation procedures. He specializes in all aspects of cardiac arrhythmias, syncope evaluation, dysautonomic syndromes, and atrial fibrillation ablation.

Dr Frazier earned his Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Duke University, followed by his Doctor of Medicine from Duke University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. His postgraduate training included an internal medicine residency at Duke Medical Center, a cardiology fellowship at Mayo Clinic, and an electrophysiology fellowship at Mayo Clinic.

A prolific researcher, Dr. Frazier conducted basic arrhythmia research at Duke Medical Center from 1985 to 1987. He has authored or co-authored peer-reviewed papers, abstracts, and book chapters that have been published in many prestigious journals. Notable honors include the American Heart Association Research Scholarship, Sandoz Basic Science Research Award, and finalist for the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology Young Investigator Award.

Dr. Frazier holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society, and a member of the American Medical Association and Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Frazier remains at the forefront of advancing patient care in cardiac electrophysiology

Gregory Harris

Gregory S. Harris, M.D., Ph.D.


Electrophysiologist

Dr. Gregory S. Harris is a board-certified Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist with extensive expertise in arrhythmia management, device implantation, and cardiovascular research. He currently serves as an Electrophysiologist and Director of Research at Heart Rhythm Associates in Greenville, North Carolina, a position he has held since July 2019.

Dr. Harris earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from East Carolina University, followed by a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from Appalachian State University, where his thesis explored the effects of resistance exercise on recovery blood pressure and heart rate. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Physiology from East Carolina University, with a dissertation on the role of urotensin II in the pathophysiology of congestive heart failure. After a postdoctoral fellowship in Molecular and Cellular Physiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he completed his Doctor of Medicine at East Carolina University. His postgraduate training included an internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at East Carolina University, followed by an electrophysiology fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

A prolific researcher, Dr. Harris has authored or co-authored numerous publications in journals such as Heart Rhythm, American Journal of Physiology, and Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology. He has presented abstracts at major conferences, including the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society, and Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology. Dr. Harris holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and American Medical Association, and served as PGY3 representative for the Internal Medicine Chief's Council (2012-2013). Dr. Harris continues to advance cardiac care through clinical practice, research, and education.
